Most of us have played Angry Birds game or seen people playing it on their mobile phones. It is so addictive that you just can’t play once. You keep want to attack those pigs again and again using sling shots.
Children or grown ups every one around the world loves them. At one point of time they were number one game on iOS app store. Game has been downloaded more than 2 billion times across various platforms.
It has been one of the most popular game world has seen so far. So much is the popularity that Wired magazine in one of the article mentioned this – “Every day, users spend 200 million minutes — 16 years every hour — playing the mobile game. Three trillion pigs have been popped. It has filled billions of those interstitial moments spent riding the bus, on a plane or in important work meetings, and it is or has been the number-one paid app on iTunes in 68 countries, as well as the best-selling paid app of all time.”
Angry Birds game was developed by a Finnish computer game company calledRovio in 2009. Angry Birds game was Rovio’s best product ever and made them an over night success with in few months of game launch.
Game opened a whole lot of opportunities for them with subsequent releases of game along with merchandising, movie production and even theme park development options.
However Angry Birds was not their first developed game. It was not even second or third. Interestingly it was their 52nd product. They created 51 games prior to that with no major success. Some of their games were sold to other companies but majority of them were a failure.
But they kept on working for 8 years, creating one game after another before they finally tasted massive success. To the world it looked like an over night success but essentially they toiled for many years, learning and growing with each failure and attempt.
Timing, perseverance, and ten years of trying will eventually make you look like an overnight success. – Biz Stone, co-founder of #Twitter
There is nothing like over night success in any field of life. Whether you are running a business or aspiring to become an author, you have to pay the price for success in terms of hard work and patience.
There are count less examples of grit, determination and hard work from sportsmen to TV personalities like Usain Bolt or Jim Carrey. These people kept on moving forward in spite of difficulties and despair, until they were successful.
So in reality there is nothing like over night success, you just need to
1. Have passion for what you are doing
2. Be consistent in what you are doing
3. Keep on trying until you are successful
